The founding ideas behind EQL was to promote school quizzing across Kerala and a sense of school pride within the teams. All the rules of EQL were framed taking into consideration all of the participant's wants and our own organisational capabilities. Allowing cross school teams or lone participants could lead to complexities and disputes which would shift the spotlight from quizzing. Also, with cross-school teams, the chances of a level playing field for the participants are diminished.
We require the cooperation of the schools in this venture to fullest extent and so do not want to get into any unpleasant situations with any of the participating schools in any way. We would like to see that the spirit of the competition is maintained and that all competing teams are equal in all perspectives. The planning for the execution of this project is immense and this tough task is going to even more complex in allowing lone participants and cross teams. Being the first year of the EQL we look forward that extra bit to keep it free of controversies.
It is keeping into mind all these that that we have arrived at the tough decision of NOT allowing cross school teams and lone participants.
Hope all those who requested for these provisions in the league will understand and appreciate our decision.
