EQL Quiz 2 Report

The second round of EQL saw an even more phenomenal response than the first quiz. This time the venue was Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar. The response was so huge that the Enquire executives had a tough time seating all the teams in the hall. The quizzing spirit was very much in the air as teams started showing up much before the announced reporting time of 9.30 am.

The prelims saw frantic discussions and ceaseless whispers as the teams plunged headfirst into the set of questions that would decide who would make it to the finals. After the sound of pen scratching paper had subsided, the teams waited with bated breath for the announcement of the finalists. Three teams from Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya and one each from Bhavan’s, Girinagar, Bhavan’s Elamakkara and Vidyodaya made the cut.

Packed halls and interesting questions were the order of the day as the quiz hosted by Manu S Madhav had the teams as well as the audience bowled over many a time. The quiz saw the team from BVM, Elamakkara, the champions of EQL Quiz 1, breaking away into an early lead. The quiz featured, for the first time in EQL, an on stage elimination after 3 rounds. It was a moment of despair for the lone fighter from Vidyodaya who got eliminated after the stipulated three rounds. The blockades round that followed that had the teams clueless and piling on negatives (at least one of them was faster on the buzzer than the others!!!). The audience got one up on the teams in the next round, Liar Liar. The quiz came to an end with the traditional Divide and Conquer, but by then Anand and Ashok had established an unassailable lead over the other contenders. Sathyawageeshwar and Tarun from BVM, Girinagar finished second. Aditya and Arjun from Bhavan’s Adarsha clinched the third spot after a tie breaker.
