Enquire Quiz League Season1 comes to a close...

“All good things must come to an end”,...and so it was with the inaugural season of the Enquire Quiz League. The league signed off with a pulsating last leg, with Arjun R Menon and Aditya Unnikrishnan from Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya sealing their victory in the last round, beating Arjun Muraly and Ashin George from Model Technical who led for more than nine tenths of the quiz.

Arjun and Aditya were crowned the champions of the inaugural season, a reward for their consistent performance over the entire quiz series. Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya swept off all competition in the school championship, with their nearest rivals more than 1000 points behind. Adarsha’s dominance was so complete that their position as Champion School was assured even before the last leg started. Sunitha Ma’am, principal of Bhavans Varuna Vidyalaya, which hosted the last leg, was kind enough to accept our invitation and give away the prizes.

The League was a dream come true for the Enquire executives, who had meticulously planned it over a year. The idea of launching the league must largely be credited to ex-executive Sebastian J Pattom, who is now working for Bajaj at Pune. Vignesh J, the former secretary, also took a lot of pains for this to materialise into a reality from a concept on paper. We must also thank the Bhavans schools for their magnanimity in permitting us to use their auditoriums and other facilities free of cost. Without their unflinching support, the League could never have been pulled off. But ultimately, it all boils down to this-this would have never been a success without you, the participants of the league. You have been spirited, responsive, passionate and supportive. You have fuelled our success, you have driven our thoughts and you have inspired us to dream higher...

Now our thoughts unavoidably wander towards the horizon, where we dream of a bigger and better sequel to this quizzing endeavour. We dream of a future where a young generation comes of age into the challenging world of quizzing, where quick minds and agile brains grab the golden chalice of opportunity, where the best of Indian quizzing will emerge from this melting pot. And we look unto you, the future of quizzing, to make our dream come true. And we will always be there to help you in this quest, guiding you, lending a helping hand, and of course...inspiring answers...

PS: We could not get the photos on the blog, due to certain technical difficulties, we will get them uploaded as soon as possible, along with the scores. Boquets, brickbats and suggestions are welcome...Please feel free to comment.

I would like to invite you to join my group in facebook in battling the cheaters in pub quizzes using their phones. It's a little unfair that if you've got the money to own one, that you can cheat and receive all the glory of winning your local pub quiz.
