REPORT OF EQL QUIZ 1

Genius ain't anything more than elegant common sense. With the aim of proving this view the enquire team reached Bhavans Varuna Vidyalaya on the 1st of August 2009 for the first round of EQL season 2. what they found there was close to 50 teams of enthusiastic duos with flashing greycells from all over the district and beyond, all geared up to take on any question that came their way. Without letting the fire in them die, the quiz started at 10.30am with the prelims. The young minds were immediately on to work from count 1 and there was a buzz of discussions and arguments in the hall. After half an hour of joyride filled with all kinds of questions, the teams submitted their papers and waited eagerly for the results.
After a very short break, the prelims results were announced and the six teams to make it to the big stage were Rajagiri Public School, Bhavans Vidya Mandir Elamakkara, Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya Kakkanad, two teams from Harisree Vidyanidhi Thrissur and Vidyodaya School Thevakkal. The eagerly awaited clash of the titans began with the quizmaster of the day, Luke , testing the finalists with BasiQs. BVM Elamakkara were on the driving seat from round 1 itself and looked quite determined to sweep the quiz away. But then the teams from Harisree Vidyanidhi, Adarsha Vidyalaya and Rajagiri Public School got themselves going and started to catch up with the leaders.The quiz went through all domains possible in the most interesting way known and managed to keep both the participants and audience at the edge of their seats. At the end of the fun filled journey through the world of facts and trivia, we had a winner. the team from Bhavans Elamakkara comprising of M Ashwath and Rushabh Menon sweeping away the honours with a margin of 40 points from the team of Sachin Iyer and Abhijith from Harisree Vidyanidhi who came second after giving a tough fight. The third position was well fought for and two teams didnt seem to be in any mood to give away the podium position so it was decided to give them both the podium position for their fierce battle for third position. They were the teams from Rajagiri public school and Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya comprising of Elizabeth Kurian-Arshad Mohammed and Athul Chacko - Ravikrishnan Rajeev respectively.

Once again the curtain fell and as all good things come to an end UNTIL the next episode.. EQL season 2 Quiz 1 came to an end leaving all those who witnessed the fiesta , waiting eagerly for the next edition of EQL season 2.
