EQL Footsoldiers!!!

As we announced during the last quiz, we will be launching the Footsoldiers Programme of EQL for the next quiz which is happening on November 29th at Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Girinagar. All of you have already been introduced to this concept. Just to clear things up, we are posting the formal rules of the programme, here.

RULES AND REGULATIONS : EQL FOOTSOLDIERS*

1. Each school constitutes a separate group, the group members are all the students of that school who are a part of the Enquire Quiz League. Each school must assign a footsoldiers coordinator ( can be a student who is participating in the league or a faculty) for the smooth conduct of the event. The coordinator will be the point of contact for ENQUIRE.

2. Each school is required to prepare a 10-question quiz on Current Affairs, pertaining to certain articles and items of “The Hindu” newspaper, as directed by the ENQUIRE team and will be referred to as the “Setting School. ENQUIRE will send the coordinator "Setting School", the data sheets (via email) from which they'll have to make questions, 15 days before the day of each quiz. Each data sheet will contain a bulleted list of recent news items spanning a two week period, arranged in a chronological order.

3. Each school will get only one chance to be the “Setting School

4. A school can prepare and send us any number of questions pertaining to the data sheet. The questions prepared by the "Setting School" is to be sent 7 days before the day of the quiz. These questions are subject to revision by the Enquire quiz team. The accepted list of 10 questions will be sent back to the coordinator of the "Setting School" 4 days before the quiz. Decisions on any changes warranted on account of arbitrariness of a question will be solely up to the discretion of the Enquire Quiz team and will have to be accepted.

5. The teams from the schools other than the "Setting school", will have to answer the quiz set by the "Setting School" team-wise. The number of questions answered by a school will be fixed as the average number of questions answered by all the teams from the school.

6. A separate footsoldiers tally will be maintained by us and will be published on our website after each quiz. The rules for calculating the footsoldiers tally are as follows.

7. The school preparing the quiz is awarded points for each of the ten questions that they have prepared and is accepted. The amount of points awarded per question will be {10 X (No. of Schools participating in the League)}. It may happen that, the number of questions accepted by Enquire is more than 10. In such a case, we'll select the best 10 out of those accepted and set the quiz accordingly. Enquire reserves the right to use all the remaining accepted questions in any of its future quizzes .

8. The schools answering the questions are awarded {4 X (No. of Schools)} points once they reach the cut-off of five correct answers. From there on they get plus one for all the correct answers they give and correspondingly two points will be deducted from the total of the Setting School”.

9. The top 8 schools will be given ranked scores as per given below

1st- 1000, 2nd – 800, 3rd – 600, 4th – 500, 5th – 400, 6th – 300, 7th – 200, 8th – 100.

These scores are added on to the school scores of EQL and will help in deciding the Enquire Quiz League’s Best Quizzing School prize.

Hey guys ,so we have to sit in school wise groups and participate

Enquire Quiz Club said...

@Nevil : You got it wrong there.. When u are preparing questions for your school's turn in the footsoldiers event, all the members of your school should sit together. But answering the questions of the footsoldiers round conducted by schools other than yours is team-wise.

Hey Enquire,

Next quiz is very near to the dates for the Xth model exams of BHAVANS schools. A bit earlier would be a lot better for the Xth standards.

We're really sorry for the date. But the date cannot be changed.

Dont worry about that. The regular quiz will be conducted along with the footsoldiers. Actually both are independent of each other.

Enquire Team,
I am parent of a contestant who had been taking part in the enquire quiz events for long. There is a request for change of date of the next event to 28th as my son had to take a scholarship exam on the 29th. Thank you!

Hi all,

As a matter of fact we are also interested in doing the quiz on 28th...

We had initially put it on 29th since the schools had expressed objection stating 28th was a public holiday....since there is a possibility that the public holiday is on 27th..we are actively exploring the possibility of doing the quiz on 28th...

We will let you know of the confirmed date in 1 or maximum 2 days...

Please bear with us...and thank you for your comments and support...

Sachin S said...

Thanks for trying ,I hope you can hold it on 28

Rushabh said...

I too have the test and would prefer 28th. Pls reply fast
