@Enquire...
Please consider the request of not keeping the quizzes on 2nd saturdays...Few or none from Hari Sri will be able to attend the quiz on such days.The reason is entrance classes,which gets extended to 4 or 8 hours(as in the case of my partner),which to skip would lead to a complex situation for us.Travelling also takes time for us...Please consider our request...

X is an American daytime television drama that is credited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest running drama in television and radio history, running from 1937 until 2009.At the time of its cancellation in 2009, it was the longest-running soap opera in production. It is also among the longest running broadcast programs in history of any kind, across radio media for 15 years, and then television media for 57 years, being first broadcast five days after President Franklin D. Roosevelt's second inauguration. It aired on radio from January 25, 1937, to June 29, 1956, and debuted on CBS Television on June 30, 1952 running for 57 years. The series was expanded from 15 minutes to a half hour in 1968, and then to a full hour on November 7, 1977.

X was created by Irna Phillips, and began as an NBC Radio serial on January 25, 1937. In 1947 the show moved to CBS radio,before starting on television on June 30, 1952, on CBS television. The show's title refers to a lamp in the study of Reverend Dr. John Ruthledge, a major character when X debuted in 1937, that family and residents could see as a sign for them to find help when needed.

Q:Excerpt from History of Mathematics by Howard Eves: “Aryabhatta called it the ardha-jya (half-chord) and jya-ardha(chord-half), and then abbreviated the term by simply using jya(chord). From jya the Arabs phonetically derived jiba, which, following the Arabic practice of omitting vowels was written as jb. Now jiba is a meaningless word in Arabic. Later writers who came across jb as an abbreviation changed it to jaib, which means ‘cove’ or ‘bay’ in Arabic. When the word was translated into Latin from Arabic, it was replaced by its Latin equivalent Y meaning a cove or a bay, from whence came our present word X.”. This was instrumental in the discovery of a very important branch of mathematics. Identify X?

Turks ate the fetid, brackish cakes flavoured with nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, and saffron. Persians drank it with wine. Egyptians dissolved it in delicate balms. Arabs took it over the Caucasian mountains and into Asia. The Chinese ate it – in fish cakes sprinkled with vinegar and it didn’t take long for the Malays to acquire the taste. The European conquest of the Americas brought it to the pipe’s bowl and then there was no stopping it. What am I talking about??
